This St. Francis of Assisi statue shows a wolf and a lamb at his sides and a small bird in his hand. He is the patron saint of animals and the venerable.
St Francis of Assisi is the founder of the Franciscan orders and also of the the Nativity sets and scenes so many of us put up every Christmas season. On Christmas Eve in 1223, in a church at Grecchia, Francis built a creche and brought live animals and people to re-enact that special night.
This 10" figurine continues the great attention to details the Joseph's Studio line shows with their larger statues.
